DFV
DFV Test Leishmania + Ehrlichia + Anaplasma (LEA)
Inmunochromatographic device for the detection of antibodies against Leishmania, Ehrlichia canis and/or Anaplasma platys in canine serum (preferably), plasma or whole blood (with anticoagulant).

DESCRIPTION:
Detection of antibodies against Leishmania infantum and spcific antibodies against Ehrlichia canis and/or Anaplasma platys in a single assay.
A high level of antibodies against some of these microorganisms indicates the possible presence of the parasite/s.

SAMPLES:
-Blood with anticoagulant (citrate, EDTA or heparin)
-Serum (preferably)
-Plasma.

Do not use highly haemolysed or coagulated samples.

Samples are stable for up to 4 hours at room temperature and for up to 2 days at 2-8 ºC. Serum and plasma samples can be kept frozen for several months.

PROCEDURE:
Bring sealed pouch and sample to room temperature only if they were kept in refrigeration. Remove the device from the pouch and place it on a flat surface once everything is ready to perform the assay. Important: Do not move the device until the assay has finalized.

1. Place 1 drop (20µl) of whole blood with anticoagulant, serum or plasma in the simple well (S) using the capillary tube. Check that the sample has penetrated the membrane.

2. Open the simple buffer vial and add its complete content to the simple well (S).

3. Read the results 10 minutes after the addition of the simple buffer.

RESULTS READING:
Positive (+) Leishmania: One coloured band appears on the test area (1) and another one on the control area (C). The result is positive although the band colours are weak.
Positive (+) Ehrlichia and/or Anaplasma: One coloured band appears on the test area (2) and another one on the control area (C). The result is positive although the band colours are weak
Negative (-): A single coloured band appears on the control area (C).
Not Valid (NV): If no coloured band appears on the control area (C), it is recommended to repeat the assay with a new device.

CONTENTS: Anticoagulant tube (EDTA), 1 pipette, 1buffer solution vial, usage instructions and envelope with test device.

Commercial presentation: Box with 1 kit and clinical package 1 box x 30 kits.

CONSERVATION:
Keep at room temperature below 30ºC. Refrigeration is not needed. Do not freeze. The product is stable at least until the expiry date indicated on the pouch if kept under adequate conditions. Do not use the product if the envelope is broken or if lines or strains are observed on the strip before using it.
