DFV Test Dirofilaria – Heartworm
Immunochromatographic device for the detection of the Dirofilaria immitis specific antigen in canine serum (preferably), plasma or whole blood (with anticoagulant).

Dogs infected with the parasite usually have detectable levels of specific antigen.

It is possible to assay serum (preferably), plasma and whole blood (with anticoagulant) samples. With whole blood, the sample must be gathered with anticoagulant (EDTA, citrate or heparin).

Do not use highly haemolysed or coagulated samples. Samples are stable for up to 4 hours at room temperature and for up to 2 days at 2-8 ºC. Serum and plasma samples can be kept frozen for longer storage.

Bring all components of the test and sample to room temperature only if they were kept in refrigeration. Remove the device from the pouch and place it on a flat surface once everything is ready to perform the assay. Very important: Keep the device on a flat surface and do not move until the end of the assay.

1: Using one of the pipettes, place 1 drop (20 ml) of blood, serum or plasma in the sample well (S) and check that the sample has penetrated the membrane.
2: Add 4 drops (120 ml) of buffer tube content to the sample well (S) using the other pipette.
3: Read the results 20 minutes after the addition of the buffer.

Do not use the same pipette to place drops of blood and drops of buffer tube.

Positive (+): One coloured band appears on the test area (T) and other on the control area (C). The result is positive although the band colours are weak.

Negative (-): A single coloured band appears on the control area (C).
Not Valid (NV): If no coloured band appears on the control area (C), it is recommended to repeat the assay with a new device.

CONTENTS: anticoagulant tube (EDTA), 1 pipette, 1buffer solution vial, usage instructions and envelope with test device.

Commercial presentation: Box with 1 kit and clinical package 1 box x 30 kits.

Keep at room temperature below 30ºC. Refrigeration is not needed. Do not freeze. The product is stable until the expiry date indicated in the pouch if kept under adequate conditions.
