Inmunochromatographic device for the detection of antibodies against Leishmania, Ehrlichia and Anaplasma. It also detects the presence of Dirofilaria immitis in canine serum (preferably), plasma or whole blood (with anticoagulant)
DESCRIPTION:
Detection of specific antibodies against Leishmania and Ehrlichia canis and/or Anaplasma spp. and other homologous Rickettsiae in a single assay.
A high level of antibodies against some of these microorganisms indicate the possible presence of the parasite/s.
It also detects antigens of Dirofilaria immitis in the same device.
SAMPLES:
- Serum (of choice)
- Blood with anticoagulant (citrate, EDTA or heparin)
- Plasma
Do not use highly haemolysed or coagulated samples.
Samples are stable for up to 4 hours at room temperature and for up to 2 days at 2-8 ºC. Serum and plasma samples can be kept frozen for several months.
PROCEDURE:
Bring sealed pouch and sample to room temperature only if they were kept in refrigeration. Remove the device from the pouch and place it on a flat surface once everything is ready to perform the assay. Important: Do not move the device until the assay has finalized.
1. Place 1 drop (10µl) of whole blood with anticoagulant, serum or plasma in the first well (S) using the capillary tube. Check that the sample has penetrated the membrane.
2. Open one buffer vial and add its complete content to the first well (S).
3. Repeat the procedure from point 1 with the other well.
4. Read the results 10 minutes after the progress along the membrane is visible.
RESULTS READING: (Read each test independently)
Positive (+): One coloured band appears on the test area (T) and other on the control area (C). The result is positive although the band colours are weak.
Negative (-): A single coloured band appears on the control area (C).
Not Valid (NV): If no coloured band appears on the control area (C), it is recommended to repeat the assay with a new device.

- 1 capillary tube
- 2 sample buffer vials
- 1 pouch that includes 1 device and 1 desiccant
- 1 tube with anticoagulant EDTA
Commercial presentation: Box with 1 kit and clinical package 1 box x 20 kits.
CONSERVATION:
Keep at 2-25ºC. Refrigeration is not needed. Do not freeze. The product is stable at least until the expiry date indicated on the pouch if kept under adequate conditions. Do not use the product if the pouch is torn or if the membrane is stained or broken.
